… the self proclaimed ‘Land of Smiles!’

The nickname dates back a lot of years now, all part of a long running promotional campaign attracting visitors with the promise of powdery sandy beaches, affordable accommodation and welcoming hosts. It lives up to all those promises, stunning beaches, delicious food and good quality hotels and hostels, far cheaper than Europe but more expensive (and developed) than neighbouring Cambodia and Vietnam. And yes, they are a very smiley nation.

Thailand is a country of contrasts, deeply religious in parts but seedy and hedonistic in others. With that in mind do your homework before travelling, it is a country that has something for everyone.
